IWF launches IFFOR-funded research

The Internet Watch Foundation today launched its IFFOR-funded research into the motivations, behavior and actions of those who view indecent images of children. 

The project is aimed at understanding how sex offenders use the Internet to access and maintain access to child abuse images and videos. And its objective is to use this intelligence to direct resources more effectively in disrupting the online availability of child abuse images and ultimately striving to eradicate this content from the Internet.

IFFOR embraces new gTLD evolution

IFFOR will expand its specialist policy services to applicants of new generic top-level domains. The move follows a strategic review of the organization after its first full year of operation.

The review found that IFFOR has fully established itself as an organization and won recognition for its policies and best practices. It concluded that, going forward, IFFOR should embrace the emerging policy needs of thousands of new Internet extensions due to be approved in 2013 and go live in 2014.

IFFOR Funds Research into Age Verification Best Practices

The International Foundation for Online Responsibility (IFFOR) is pleased to provide a grant of $5,000 to Innovate Identity, an independent consultancy providing advisory services on how to bring trust and safety to the global online community through age verification innovation and technology.

Innovate Identity will write a white paper to promote and enable solution-led thinking and education around age verification within the Internet infrastructure industry.

The Policy Engine service will help those companies planning to run a piece of the Internet's infrastructure by providing customized and pragmatic solutions for their specific needs, whether privacy requirements, content restrictions, age verification, registrant identification, or a range of other requirements.
